d through each priest stated Fr Tony Lopes, the Superior General of the Society of Pilar.
Fr Tony Lopes was speaking on the occasion of the thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration of Golden and Silver Jubilee of priesthood on April 30 in the Pilar Seminary Chapel, Pilar.
Fr Sergio Mascarenhas and Fr Basilio Fernandes have completed 50 years of their priestly ordination while Fr Tony Fernandes, Fr Jacinto Almeida and Fr Longinus Trikey complete 25 years of priesthood in the society of Pilar.
Stating the core attitudes that define every member of the society of Pilar, Fr Lopes said that Pilar Priest is a man of prayer, who is hard working, simple and hospitable. These attitudes are the sound tradition of the members of the society of Pilar.
Fr Tony Fernandes, reflecting of the theme Priesthood a call to service and a challenge to witness, stated that first we must be good human being then only we can be good Christians and good Priests. Like Jesus we are called to expect goodness for others, share goodness and go about doing good.
Fr Longinus Trikey from Jharkhand having a Masters in Youth Ministry and Catechetics stated that God has chosen us not because we were worthy, good or better but out of his bountiful love.
As a special token of love, people for Jharkhand offered the Gamcha – a traditional Adhivasi shawl to the Jubilerians and other dignitaries. END
