Dear Rev. Fr.
Greetings to you!
November 15, 2009 is the Diocesan Day for Mass Media Apostolate.
The Mass Media unveil to us a very fascinating world, a world of challenges too. The message of the Holy Father as well as the Message of our Archbishop- Patriarch, M. Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao, deal with this issue.
Their teachings need to percolate to the grassroots, especially to those who use them most – the youth; the Holy Father calls them ‘digital generation’. It is with this in mind and in order to expose them to the high values of Mass Communications that the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications is organizing a quiz contest, available at the Website of the Archdiocese www.archgoadaman.org/concord/ This quiz is restricted to Parishes in Deaneries of Goa Velha, Old Goa, Panjim, Aldona, Calangute, Mapusa, Verna and Margao for reasons of convenience though others may avail of other competitions on-line.
The dynamics of the quiz are as follows:
There are two categories for participants and both concern the Sunday school students: Communion group and Confirmation students. 5 students are to be chosen and sent in each participating category. They will have to go through the modules of the quiz along with answers which are available in our Archdiocesan Website www.archgoadaman.org/concord/ A test quiz set will be put on line from 4th November 2009, which will have to be answered on line or sent to the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, Archbishop’s House, P.B. 216, Altinho, Panjim Goa, before 12th November 2009, providing your address or phone no or email. The chosen students from each parish will be requested to gather at Don Bosco, Panjim on the 15th of November, 2009 for the Grand Quiz and Communication Event which will begin at 9.00am and end at 1.00pm followed by a courtesy meal for the participants.
The Quiz will be held at each level (communion & confirmation), along with other creative competitions on the spot, such as Drawing, sms, mobile pic/video, etc. Only the chart paper will be provided. The rest of the material such as water colours, sketch pens, crayons etc. will have to be brought by the contestants.
The winners will be given Prizes and publicity. Finer details about the modality of competitions will be sent later.
This is totally new initiative; to succeed your cooperation is paramount.
We thank you in anticipation.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Francisco Caldiera
Director, DCSCM
