Summer vacation is a time for fun and learning for all ages. Keeping this in mind the Yourth for Christ ministry of Couples for Christ, Porvorim, conducted a programme for children in the age group 4-10 years titled "A March with Saints".

This programme for the children  was an intoroduction on the life of Saints which was held at the Deepti Sadan, Pilar Generalate on 15th August, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The entire group of 25 children was divided into 3 smaller groups who moved through an activity related to 3 saints, namely Fr. Francis Xavier, St. Francis of Assisi & St. Christopher.

Highlighted herebelow are short reports of both the programmes.

1) St. Francis Xavier : He was an evangelist who faced a lot of obstacles in spreading God's Word. Hence, the activity was an obstacle course around the venue.

2) St. Francis of Assisi : A short movie was screened on his life and an interesting quiz based on the movie was conducted, so that the children retained everything they saw.

3) St. Christopher : Once again, the story of his life was narrated, a prayer was given to each child and a song taught to them.

Finally, after a short break of cold drinks and patties, every child attended the last session on Mother Mary, her role in salvation and the importance of the Rosary. Each child assembled a decade of the Rosary with the beads given to them, which fitted round their wrist, to be used when they recited the Rosary at home.

The programme ended with an invitation to all the children and their parents to attend a similar session to be held on the 5th of Sept. 2010.
