Church built by Pilar Fathers complete 25 years in Punjab

Punjab: A thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was held at Holy Rosary Church built by Pilar Fathers in Batinda, Punjab   on the occasion of its silver jubilee on October 15.
 
Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh Diocese, Rt Rev Ignatius L. Mascarenhas, speaking on the occasion as a main celebrant stated that the evil spirit is ready to overtake us. But with the Holy Spirit we should be ready to face all the circumstances in our life.
 
Fr Albert Fernandes, Provincial Superior of Delhi Province of  the Society of Pilar,   appreciated the efforts  not only of the  pioneers  of the Society of Pilar in Punjab-Haryana  but  all the  cooperation of the  faithful and  above all the support of the bishop of Simla-Chandigarh.
 
Rev Fr Anecleto Fernandes, the first long term serving Parish Priest and Rev Fr Anthony D’Silva, the first Principal, who had rendered yeoman service to raise the Church building were present for the occasion.
 
To mark the occasion, a magazine, a CD comprising devotional songs and a small prayer book were released by Bishop Ignatius Mascarenhas, Rev Fr Albert Fernandes, the Provincial Superior of Delhi Province, and Rev Fr Remy Cardozo, the Parish Priest, respectively.
 
Rev Fr Ivo Dias, the Superior of the Batinda community of Pilar Fathers, Rev Fr Ranjit, the Assistant Parish Priest, Sr Lyra, the Superior and the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Convent, the Parish Council, and the parishioners helped in coordinating the event.
