Chrism Mass

CP-Not/20/2009

“N O T I C E”

It is hereby informed that the CHRISM MASS, this year, will be held on 2nd April, 2009 (Thursday) in the ‘Se Catedral’, Old-Goa, Goa, at 10:00 a.m.

This Mass, which the Bishop celebrates with his presbyterium and at which the oils are blessed, manifests the communion of the priests with their Bishop. It is, therefore, desirable that, to the extent possible, all the priests from different parts of the Archdiocese keep aside all other appointments and take part in it.

Those wishing to concelebrate at the Chrism Mass are kindly requested to inform the Dean of their respective Deanery by 15th March, 2009 the latest. They are further requested to bring along their own alb, stole and cincture and to be present in the sacristy at 9:30 a.m.

The Mass will be followed by an “AGAPE” at the Pius X Pastoral Institute.

The Deans are requested to collect the holy oils for their respective deaneries from the office of the Diocesan Commission for Liturgy at the Pastoral Institute, Old-Goa on the day of Chrism Mass itself or, thereafter, before the Second Sunday of Easter.

The Offices at the Archbishop’s House will remain closed on the Chrism Mass day.

Archbishop’s House, Panjim, Goa, 6th February, 2009.
