Dear Rev. Father, Sister, Brother, Madam, Sir,
May all your endeavours in the various spheres of the Mission of Jesus reap abundant fruits.  As annually, this year the Celebration of Holy Childhood Day is marked for Sunday 17th February 2013.  The Holy Childhood Association (HCA) of India, has requested all Dioceses to help children become ‘ Little Missionaries ‘,  through relevant activities.  We are aware that all of you, deeply committed to the integral formation of children will take personal interest to make this Celebration of the Day meaningful and effective.  We give you below some suggestions for activities, especially for the Primary Section to be conducted on any convenient day and for Sunday Schools of the Parishes.

Course on Teachings of Vatican II at Pilar

Pilar: Pilar Theological College is organizing a special program for laity entitled ‘Teachings of Vatican Council II: Vision and challenges’ from February 17 to March 17, 2013. The session will be held during the five consecutive Sundays of lent from 9.30 am to 1:00 pm
Centre for Faith Education (CFE), of the Pilar Theological College, together with the Universal Church, rejoice on the 50th Anniversary of Vatican II and celebrate the occasion with a focused Review Course on Vatican Council II.

Swami Vivekananda exhibition at Rachol Seminary

Rachol: Rachol Seminary in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda has an exhibition marking the120 years of Swami Vivekananda visit to the acclaimed center of learning in Goa.Fr. Dennis Fernandes, the rector of Rachol Seminary, inaugurating the exhibition on December 19. The exhibition will be kept open till January 12
Swami Vivekananda visited the Rachol Seminary from October 15-17, 1892.  Spending three days in the pursuit of theological works in the Seminary library, Vivekananda with the help of an interpreter Subrai Naik held discussion with the priests and the seminarians.

Publications Released at Xavier's

     Established in 1963, St. Xavier’s College is one of the premier institutions of higher education in the State of Goa. Recently, it was conferred upon the Best College Award by Goa University, besides being awarded the status of College with Potential for Excellence by UGC and Grade A by NAAC.

''ADEUS BEBEA"

 The Release of the Book “ADEUS BEBEA”

     

 On the feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz, a new book was released in Konkani at the hands of Rev. Fr. Steve Rodrigues, the provincial of the Goa Capuchins,  entitled ADEUS BEBEA. The book is authored by Dr. Simon Rico Fernandes, Capuchin. The colorful function was held at St. Padre Pio Seminary, Modi, Navelim. A select group of invites graced the occasion. Frs. Jose Dias, Leny Souza Pegado, Mr. Paul Fernandes and several lovers of Konkanni were present. Fr. Bruno Leitao introduced the poet and his work in a very learned manner and praised him for bringing out his thirteenth book. ADEUS BEBEA is a poetic reflection on the pastoral letter of the Archbishop of Goa Filipe Neri Ferrao "Covenant between God and Creation" Manifestation of God's Love. The poet goes all out to speak up for the creation.
