FAITH PROCLAIMED THROUGH RANGOLI AND POSTERS
“Always Become Christ” was the clarion call given by the Chief Guest, Fr. Donato Rodrigues on the occasion of the Poster and Rangoli Presentation held on the 13th of January, 2013, at the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol. To celebrate the Year of Faith, Rangoli and Poster Presentation was organised by the Raia Deanery ACAZ for their catechism students. This faith event enabled the students to express their faith and thus be witnesses and proclaimers of faith through their talents.
Fr. Basilio Monteiro, Head of Division of Mass Communications and Director of Post-Graduate Studies in International Communications and Senior Fellow of Vincentian Centre for Church and Society at St. John’s University, New York, delivered a lecture to the faculties of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, on “Higher Education in a Globalized Economy”, a topic of great relevance in the context of education in the present times.
Elaborating on the topic, he stated that educational systems are built for a time and not for all time, thereby the need to adapt wisely and well to changing conditions. He decried the text book education imparted to the students as they cannot extend their knowledge of the subject as they are conditioned to depend upon a borrowed stock of ideas.

The next monthly meeting for priests will be held on 14th, 21st, 28th February, 2013 at Mapusa, Old Goa and Margao Centres, respectively.
Faith Film Festival held at Rachol Seminary
RACHOL:For the first time ever to commemorate the year of faith, a Faith Film Festival was held at the Rachol Seminary on January 16.The students of Rachol seminary expressed their faith in six films of 10 minutes duration each.
The Chief Guest Fr Feroz Fernandes, Editor of Vauraddeancho Ixtt, speaking on the occasion stated that the most important challenge to express faith is in the digital environment. In a particular way we need to be attentive to the emergence of the popularity of the social networks.
